Qualified or Not

We talked about branching out to reach out last week and how people believe they can’t possibly make a difference because of their inadequacies. They are waiting to be perfect first. While i believe in right timing i also believe no one will ever be 100% perfect. We will get better at what we do as we do what we do but perfection is a journey and it’s destination stops in heaven. One very important key to making a difference is not perfection but your yieldedness to the One who sent you. He puts His strength in you for His mission. Just be available and useable (they are not the same). Let’s draw encouragement today from Paul the Apostle. Read what he said about his life in Philippians 3:12‭-‬14 KJV, “…Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
For some reason, I saw the above scripture differently recently. If Apostle Paul who God used greatly, a man who was caught up in the third heavens at some point in his life, a man who in my opinion was the most influential Christian in the new testament, haven written about fourteen books of the bible could still say he didn’t see himself as perfect but on a journey; forgetting his past successes and failures and moving ahead, then there is hope for us too. The problem is when we forget we’re just occupying an office and begin to think we are above learning ourselves. Just because we’re able to help others doesn’t mean we don’t need help ourselves. Scripture says he that thinks he stands take heed lest he falls. We should learn never to say, “I can never do that” instead to say, “By God’s grace I won’t do that” because we are who we are only by the grace of God. Being in a position to help/reach out is a privilege which must not be abused. If we could all do our bit, the world will be a much better place.
